Ever wondered if your aquarium thermometer was telling you the truth? Well I sure did and I found that by spending a little money on a certified thermometer I was able to adjust all of my system temperature readings to be more accurate. In this video I talk about my Apex temp probes and other ways of measuring temp in my aquarium and how I used a certified Cooper thermometer to put to bed the question of what is my temp.

I did exact same thing. Apex was off almost 2 degrees. Great video.

Funny you mention those probes because I discovered the same thing a while ago. I check mine against a laser heat gun used by a technicians. Also the main reason I still keep my heater hidden in the main tank. The difference between the sump and the tank can be substantial
Great video, temperature probes need to be calibrated and cross checked as well. Many people think because they buy these expensive controllers that they are perfect.
